About Canine Carats

Canine Carats is a jewelry brand that happens to make most of its pieces for dogs.

What we make

Crystal-set chain collars for dogs, in four styles — the slim Classic, the heavier Deluxe, the coloured-stone Gem, and the 14mm Cuban. Each one is also made as a necklace sized for a person, using the same links and the same hand-set stones. Buy both halves and the set reads as one piece worn across two necks.

That pairing is the whole idea. Plenty of brands sell an accessory for the dog. We wanted the thing you and your dog wear together.

How they're made

Every piece is assembled by hand in Brooklyn, New York, after it's ordered — nothing sits in a warehouse waiting. Links are set stone by stone, which is why an order takes two to three weeks and why small variations between pieces are normal.

We are straight about the materials: the stones are crystals, set in plated metal links. They are chosen for cut and brilliance, not sold as something they aren't.

How they should be worn

These are decorative pieces. They aren't walking collars, training collars, or tie-out collars, and they shouldn't be left on a dog who isn't supervised. Your dog's everyday collar and ID tags still do that job. Think of ours the way you'd think of your own jewelry — it goes on for the occasion and comes off after.

Brooklyn

The brand comes out of New York, and the work happens here. It shows in the pieces — the Cuban link especially owes a lot to the chains this city has been wearing for fifty years.
